How do I set up an EMOM on Apple Watch?
Open Atlon on your Apple Watch, swipe to EMOM, tap the settings pill and set Every (the interval, from 0:15 to 5:00) and Rounds (1 to 50). Press play. The watch starts each new round on its own, taps your wrist before the change, and counts your reps. A 10-minute EMOM is 10 rounds every 1:00.
How it works
- Set it up: on the start screen, swipe to EMOM and tap the pill (for example
10 × 1:00). Choose the interval with the slider or the Digital Crown: − and + move a minute at a time, the slider and crown reach every 15 seconds. Then set the rounds. The total time shows underneath. Tap Done. - Start: press play. After the countdown (5 seconds by default), round 1 begins.
- During the EMOM: the time left in the current minute leads the screen. After the first minute, Atlon also shows how much rest you got in the minute before: the interval minus the work it detected.
- Haptics: for intervals of a minute or longer, the watch taps your wrist halfway through and with 10 seconds to go, then again as the next round starts.
- The end: the EMOM finishes after the last round. Your results show points, rounds, heart rate, effort and the exercises Atlon recognised.
Prefer the clock counting up? In Atlon’s watch settings, change EMOM clock from down (time left) to up (time so far).

Alternating EMOMs and stations with two exercises
For “minute 1: 12 wall balls, minute 2: 10 burpees”, set the total number of minutes as the rounds (a 20-minute alternating EMOM is 20 × 1:00). If a station has two exercises in the same minute, just do both: Atlon recognises each one. See How do I enter a complex WOD?
Limits
- The interval is the same for every round. An EMOM whose intervals change length (for example 1:00, then 1:30) needs Just train, or the closest fixed EMOM.
- Rounds are counted by the timer, so there’s no Round button in EMOM.
- The watch runs one timer. The station plan (what to do each minute) is something you can add afterwards on your iPhone from the whiteboard or typed text.
