Does Atlon sync with Apple Health and close my Activity rings?
Yes. Atlon records every workout as an Apple Health workout, with your heart rate and active calories, so it counts towards your Activity rings like a workout from Apple’s own Workout app. The rounds you count are saved with it. Strength saves as Traditional Strength Training, Intervals as HIIT, and the other modes as Cross Training.
How it works
- During the workout, Atlon runs a standard Apple Watch workout session. Apple Health measures your heart rate and active calories, and Atlon shows them live.
- When you end it, the workout is saved to Apple Health with its heart rate, calories and duration. The rounds you counted are saved as segments: you can see them in the Health app, in the workout’s data under Show All Data. The Fitness app doesn’t show them.
- Workout types in Apple Health:
| Atlon mode | Saved to Apple Health as |
|---|---|
| Just train, AMRAP, RFT, EMOM | Cross Training |
| Strength | Traditional Strength Training |
| Intervals | High Intensity Interval Training |
- If Atlon quits mid-workout, for example after a crash, watchOS keeps the workout session running and relaunches Atlon, which ends that session and saves it to Apple Health with the heart rate and calories collected, so your rings still get it.

Permissions
Atlon asks for permission to read heart rate and active calories, and to save workouts. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app on your iPhone.
Limits
- You can’t choose the workout type Atlon saves. It follows the mode, as in the table.
- Atlon doesn’t import workouts you recorded with other apps.
- If Atlon quits mid-workout, Apple Health keeps the workout, but Atlon’s own recording (your sets, reps and points) is lost. See My workout didn’t save.
- Calories are Apple’s estimate. See How accurate are Apple Watch calories for HIIT?
